Scott Jorgensen vs. John Albert
Round 1: A couple brief exchanges and Jorgensen shoots for a takedown, lands in Albert’s guard, nearly giving up an armbar in the process, but eventually slips out of the attempt and starts looking for a ground and pound opening. Albert transitions to Jorgensen’s back briefly, goes for another armbar, but Jorgensen again escapes. Back in Albert’s full guard, Jorgensen grinds on Albert’s face with the elbow. Albert remains patient and pulls a triangle choke from his back, locking it down tight as Jorgensen tries to wriggle out of it. Jorgensen gets to his knees and postures up, eventually slipping out of Albert’s legs and into side control. Albert, however, regains his full guard. Jorgensen is launching elbows, but Albert remains aggressive, avoiding the shots and trying to find another triangle choke. Jorgensen slips the choke attempt, takes Albert’s back, and then locks on a modified grip rear naked choke for the submission just milliseconds before the horn would have ended the round.
