Cub Swanson vs. George Roop
Round 1: Roop made good use of the front kick to keep Swanson back on the feet. Swanson did a wheel kick, but didn’t land. A flurry followed that and Swanson backed Roop against the cage. Roop recovered and did well to use punch combinations that finished with kicks to the body and legs. Roop attempted a takedown, but Swanson stuffed it and executed a nice hip toss to bring the fight to the ground. The fight went to the feet a short while later and Swanson began to find his groove, making Roop bleed from the nose. Good round for both fighters, but Swanson edges this one, 10-9.
Round 2: Roop continued to work the leg kicks in the second round, but Swanson had some nice ones of his own. The two clinched and worked knees. After a separation, both began to trade flurries. But it was an enormous right hand by Swanson that dropped Roop, knocking out the mouthpiece and putting him on his back. Swanson followed through to the ground and pounded away to finish the fight by technical knockout.
