The UFC is back in New Jersey this week for UFC on FOX 15, which is headlined by a middleweight showdown between Lyoto Machida and Luke Rockhold.

Lyoto Machida vs Luke Rockhold Media FaceoffThe fight between Machida and Rockhold could go a long way towards determining the next challenger to the middleweight belt that Chris Weidman is putting up against Vitor Belfort at UFC 187 in May. Machida was unsuccessful in wrestling the belt from Weidman in the past, but Rockhold has been streaking towards a title shot, so whoever wins makes a strong case to challenge for the title.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza was hoping to fight and defeat Yoel Romero in the co-main event to make his case for a title shot, but he’ll instead face late replacement Chris Camozzi, a fighter he’s defeated before. Romero had to withdraw from the fight due to a last-minute injury.

One of the fights garnering the most attention on the card, however, is the contentious women’s strawweight bout between well-establish veteran Felice Herrig and popular upstart Paige VanZant.

Not to be overlooked is a pivotal featherweight bout between highly ranked fan favorites Cub Swanson and Max Holloway.

All 22 fighters competing on Saturday’s fight card hit their mark at the official weigh-in.
