The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to New Jersey on Saturday. The UFC on FOX 15 fighters gave company officials several impressive performances and exciting finishes to choose from when it came time to dole out the $50,000 post-fight bonuses at the end of the night.
“This wasn’t easy,” said UFC president Dana White at the post-fight press conference, but added that more than the official bonus winners will be getting checks after Saturday night’s event.
But it was main eventer Luke Rockhold that led the charge for the official post-fight bonuses, getting one of the two Performance of the Night bonuses. Rockhold earned that honor by dominating former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and submitting him midway through the second round.
The other Performance bonus went to Max Holloway, who has not-so-quietly racked up six consecutive victories, including Saturday’s submission of top-five featherweight Cub Swanson.
The Fight of the Night honors went to preliminary fighters Gian Villante and Corey Anderson, who fought a back-and-forth affair in the early portion of the fight card. Each man gets a $50,000 bonus, but Villante was the one to walk away with a victory, stopping Anderson via TKO late in the third round.
