UFC president Dana White on Thursday announced that Jordan Mein and Santiago Ponzinibbio would square off at the April 19 fight card at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
Both men enter the fight coming off of losses in their most recent outings.
Mein (27-9) had a three-fight winning streak disrupted by Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 7 last spring, while Ponzinibbio (18-2) had won seven consecutive bouts before Ryan LaFlare spoiled the Brazilian’s Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 32 in November.
The UFC on Fox 11 fight card is headlined by a five-round heavyweight tilt between Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne.
The Mein vs. Ponzinibbio bout was the third fight announced for the Orlando-based event on Thursday, following announcements for Thiago Alves vs. Seth Baczynski and Caio Magalhaes vs. Josh Samman earlier in the day.
