Benson Henderson

“I feel pretty good. Another close win, but I’ll take them any way I can get them. I thought it was a pretty controlling fight for myself. I made a few mistakes, but I don’t think he did any damage and I didn’t lose control. I made some mistakes and ended on my back a few times, but I thought the “W” was clear.

“Being on my back was not that draining on me. I was in good shape. He’s a top guy and I’m a top guy, so I knew it would be tough, but I thought I definitely got the win.

“As far as who I fight next, that’s up to the UFC. My opinion matters as much as it does in my household. Right now, I’m just looking forward to my honeymoon. I made my wife wait until after this fight, and now I just want to go to an island somewhere with her and relax.”

Josh Thomson

“The plan was simple: win. I could not, but that doesn’t mean I failed. It is what it is. We know that’s the risk when you leave to the judges’ decision. But, I’m satisfied with my performance. It was a great fight. The fans know it. They will remember this night for a long time.”

I disagree with round two, I feel Thomson won round 2.

No idea how you think he won round 2…Benson dominated the octagon and landed the only significant strikes in that one

      • Zafir Ali

Thompson took him down. In the past 1 takedown secures the round for a fighter.

And seriously Thomson won round 4

Who’d you think won the fight overall?

    • Maddawgmar

I felt that Thomson won round 1, 2, and 4.

However round 2 was really close, IMO and I scored it for Thomson. I can see how 2 went the other way but I thought 4 was clearly Thomsons.

Round four didn’t just end. It ended with Josh pulling Bendo’s head back bringing the fight back down to the mat. Not saying that alone matters, but it was far more interesting than “the round ends”

I did have the fight in Thompson’s favor. He showed some great takedowns and grappling throughout. Looks like there is a lot of disagreement with the official decision already. As I said, I thought Josh won it. If he didn’t hurt his hand, it might not even be debatable.
