Stephens (22-9) earned three Knockout of the Night awards and one Fight of the Night honor as a lightweight. He’s unbeaten since dropping to the 145-pound division with a decision win over Estevan Payan and a knockout victory over Rony Jason in his last outing.
Elkins (17-3) is ranked in the top ten in the featherweight division. He was on the cusp of title contention and riding a five-fight winning streak when he suffered a technical knockout loss to top contender Chad Mendes in April. Elkins bounced back from his first loss in three years by defeating Hatsu Hioki in his last outing on Aug. 28. The fight against Stephens will be Elkins’ fourth fight in less than a year.
UFC Fight Night 10 takes place at the United Center in Chicago on Jan. 25 and his headlined by a lightweight attraction between former champion Benson Henderson and former Strikeforce titleholder Josh Thomson.
