Coming off 2 big wins, Fabricio Werdum looked well on his way to a title shot when he faced UFC newcomer Junior Dos Santos at UFC 90. But, JDS was ready to show that he is force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division by coming out with the “W” in his UFC debut.

what an uppercut still love watching this guy fight! hard as nails and hits like a f—ing Bull

  • The Warrior

Would’ve like to have seen his KO of Cain Velasquez but this one is still good

    • Joe Dog

Watch it if you like. It’s out there.

If Werdum fights Dos Santos now he will win. Werdum’s stand up has improved as well as his cardio. Plus I don’t think Dos Santos will be the same after his last beating from Cain. He still hasn’t fought so no one truly knows how he will be. I wish him the best health.

JDS would still win in the stand up. He’s got one hell of a chin whereas Werdum can’t take a punch.

      • Joe Dog

“Werdum can’t take a punch”… WTF are you talking about??

        • Spike

He couldn’t take Hunt’s punches last time I checked. The guy kept falling coz he couldn’t take it whereas in the hunt/JDS battle, JDS ate them while standing.

      • GrasshopperMMA

Werdum can take a punch. He’s only been ko’d once. I’m not sure if Dos Santos will still have a chin. We’ll see in the Miocic fight.

        • Spike

Last time I checked, Hunt put his fists on Werdum & he kept falling down but when he landed them on JDS, the guy took them while still standing.

          • GrasshopperMMA

You have to be new to MMA to make a comment like that. I want to see you take a punch from hunt.

          • Spike

I don’t have to be new to see how both competitors took a punch against Hunt. You’ve either forgotten his fight with JDS & only remember Werdum vs. Hunt. Bottom line is Werdum is more well rounded these days (which is good) but I don’t think his striking matches up well with dos Santos and JDS has shown he’s got a good chin & can take several hard hits but I can’t say the same for Werdum though.

          • GrasshopperMMA

JDS fought slow against hunt. He waited for him to gas before really engaging. If he was aggressive and got hit like that in the beggining rounds then maybe you could say that. I guess you don’t remember that fight. I remember him knocking Hunt out in the last round while Werdum did in the second. It was a different fight and you can’t compare the 2. Remember styles makes a fight. You may be right and JDS will win. What I’m trying to iterate to you is that JDS may never be the same fighter again. That last fight against Cain was horrible. He took a beating that he shouldn’t have. It should of ended sooner but he’s tough as hell which may very well be his downfall. We wil see against Miocic. BTW Miocic might even beat him before the Cain fight. IDK but we will see.

          • Spike

I dunno about slow but he was being smart as he was fighting a top level striker. Did you not see that strong overhand right he sent Hunt rolling on the canvas in the first round? Almost finished him right then and there. The Hunt vs Werdum battle was different indeed but he still connected Werdum with good punches that rocked him, not bad for someone who had no time to train for that fight.

lol I hope you are joking. JDS would at the very least be a 3 to 1 favorite. JDS would KO any UFC heavyweight except for Cain would seems to be his kryptonite.

      • GrasshopperMMA

I said he may not be the same fighter and we will see in the Miocic fight. I never mentioned odds and idc about odds. Lets wait for the Miocic fight and we’ll talk after that.

  • JJDNB

    I’d like to see Werdum/JDS 2.
    Or Cain/JDS 15
