The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday announced that it will offer a new service called UFC Mobile, which will allow users with WAP enabled phones to access downloadable wallpapers, videos and ringtones, as well as news and event updates.

With all of the new technology being developed in cellular telephones, a mobile UFC site will certainly enhance their product as well as give fight fans even more content on the go.

The UFC has partnered with Saffron Digital to create the new mobile site.

“We went through our archives and selected some of the best fight footage and images in the UFC, and we are making all of it available through UFC Mobile,” said Dana White, UFC President. “For a sports fan, the UFC provides the perfect content for a mobile device.”

“UFC has some of the best content we have seen for distribution on mobile,” said Shashi Fernando, CEO Saffron Digital. “We are particularly proud to work with the UFC, and we are pleased to serve their vision for UFC Mobile through our platform.”

The new mobile site can be accessed directly from UFC.com, by going to UFC.mobi or by texting 99134.

More details will be forthcoming about UFC Mobile in 2008 that will include more intuitive features for UFC Fight Club members.
