Conor McGregorIreland’s favorite MMA son got it done at home.

Conor McGregor blasted through Diego Brandão, winning the featured bout at UFC Fight Night Dublin by technical knockout on Saturday.

McGregor outstruck Brandão for the first four minutes of the contest, flooring him against the cage and finishing the fight at 4:05 of the opening round.

McGregor opened up with a couple spinning back kick attempts, while his opponent tried some high kicks. Brandão attempted a takedown, but McGregor used his momentum to gain top position as the fight went to the ground.

While on the floor, McGregor hammered away on his foe with an assortment of strikes. Once back on the feet, McGregor backed Brandão against the fence and landed a punch that sent the backpedaling Brazilian to the floor.

A sequence of punches to the grounded Brandão ended the fight moments later.

With the win, McGregor improves his overall record to 15-2. The Irish fighter won all three of his Octagon appearances and 11 consecutive fights.

I have zero respect for McGregor now. Trying to sucker punch/kick someone at a glove touch is ridiculous. You have zero honor and do not understand the principles of Martial Arts.

I didnt see the fight but if thats what he did then I agree with you. Touching gloves shows repect and sportsmanship. I saw it one other time with that Canandian fighter a few years ago. Then I think he got KO’d.

Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

The main principle of MMA? You mean TRT and masking agents. Please, this is fighting. Deal with it guy.

A fighter doesn’t have to touch gloves, but if he indicates he wants to, then instead attacks, that’s a bitch move, especially in mma. Mcgregor is a lot of hype with very little talent, and even less class/professionalism

That wasn’t a sucker kick. McGregor came out in a fighting stance with an outstretched arm and open hand. You can easily tell from his body language that he wasn’t intending to touch gloves. Besides they had already done that prior. watch two fighters that have agreed to glove touch, that is not how they approach the center.

And mcgregor beats another unranked nobody. Woohoo

    • TheCerealKiller

      McGregor IS a nobody.

      • drkdisciple

A nobody just like Chael that can sell fights with his trash talk.

  • Hugh Shakeshaft

Hey he won the fight. Great! But damn it was embassing to listen to him talk, “I’m going in the back room to talk football stadiums with Lorenzo.” Seriously! You can’t make up s@#t like this. I wish him well in his career, but he’s likely a little ahead of himself when it comes to attending boardroom meetings on how to run the UFC. All the current title holders are intelligent enough to not say something this dumb. The days of being a meathead with a UFC belt are over. McGregor will only go so far.

I still think Conor is just a bit above average and isn’t going anywhere near a title in the UFC. Conor is more a Bleeator level fighter. Good for Ireland though. If that even matters?
