Cerrone worked the leg kicks in the second round, giving Cote a noticeable limp. After working combinations, Cerrone landed a punch that sent Cote falling to the Octagon floor. Cote, however, recovered, returned to the feet and made it out of the round.

Cerrone landed right-left combination that dropped Cote early in the third. He again dropped Cote with punches later in the round and mounted before landing consecutiveĀ strikes on the ground and forcing the referee to stop the fight.

With the win, Cerrone picks up his second straight win at welterweight since going up in weight from 155 pounds.
