UFC Fight Night 88 Medical Suspensions: Four Fighters Face Six-Month Layoffs

The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions stemming from UFC Fight Night 88: Almeida vs. Garbrandt on Thursday. There were no major injuries reported, but four fighters could be out of action for six months.

Undefeated Cody Garbrandt handed Thomas Almeida his first career loss in the fight card’s main event while Jeremy Stephens ruined former bantamweight champion Renan Barao‘s featherweight debut.

The event took place on May 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

UFC Fight Night 88 Medical Suspensions

– Cody Garbrandt: suspended 60 days with no contact until July 14.
– Renan Barao: suspended 30 days with no contact until June 20 for scalp laceration.
– Tarec Saffiedine: suspended 60 days with no contact until July 14 for elbow and knee lacerations.
– Vitor Miranda: suspended 60 days with no contact until July 14 for eyebrow laceration.
– Chris Camozzi: suspended 30 days with no contact until June 20.
– Josh Burkman: must have nose x-rayed and cleared, or face six month suspension with a minimum suspension of 30 days.
– Jordan Rinaldi: suspended 30 days with no contact until June 20 for facial laceration.
– Jake Collier: must have nose x-rayed and cleared, or face six month suspension with a minimum suspension of 30 days.
– Bryan Caraway: must have shoulder cleared by doctor of face a six month suspension with a minimum suspension of 30 days.
– Adam Milstead: supended 30 days with no contact until June 20.
– Chris De La Rocha: must have nasal fracture cleared by doctor or face a six month suspension with a minimum suspension of 30 days.
