The Ultimate Fighting Championship released the attendance numbers from UFC Fight Night 70: Machida vs. Romero following the event on Saturday in Hollywood, Fla.
The fight promotion sold out the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino with a crowd of 5,604 in attendance. UFC officials announced the figures during the event’s post-fight press conference.
The event was headlined by a middleweight match-up between fourth-ranked Lyoto Machida and sixth-ranked Yoel Romero.
Machida likely won the opening round, but Romero landed power shots throughout the fight. In the third frame, the Cuban took Machida down and knocked him out with elbow strikes on the ground.
With the win, Romero solidified himself as a title contender in the 185-pound division. He’s unbeaten in the UFC and is riding a six-fight winning streak.
