In the midst of the March Madness of college basketball, which has been whittled down to the Final Four, the Ultimate Fighting Champion opted for a morning start time for its UFC Fight Night 63: Mendes vs. Lamas event, so as not to go head-to-head with one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

Returning to the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., UFC Fight Night 63 delivered a crowd of 5,417, and amassed a gate of $545,604, according to UFC officials at the post-fight press conference.
