Round 1: McKenzie presses early, firing off punches and a head kick, goading Rocha to engage. Rocha fires back with a punch combination and knee, but McKenzie ties him up in a clinch. McKenzie takes a low kick to the groin, but foregoes any recovery time. McKenzie lands a good combination, but Rocha comes back with a knee. McKenzie goes for guillotine, but Rocha is quickly out, dropping down and working from McKenzie’s half guard. McKenzie is doing a good job being active from his back, avoiding Rocha’s strikes, but Rocha goes after McKenzie’s arm, trying to secure a Kimura. They move to their feet and back to the mat, the whole time Rocha holding onto the Kimura position. Rocha moves to a choke attempt on the mat, but can’t secure it. He does open up with some dangerous strikes, but they scramble back to their feet. McKenzie immediately starts pressing with punches, landing a solid right and a kick to the body. Round 2: Rocha opens with a front kick to the face, while McKenzie goes with low kicks. McKenzie gets Rocha to the mat, but in a scramble, Rocha locks on a choke. It looked like it was locked, but McKenzie works his way out. Rocha maintains top position in McKenzie’s half guard. He spins around, trying to secure an arm then transitions to full mount, opening up with punches. McKenzie turns side to side, but Rocha maintains mount from top to side to back, searching for a rear naked choke. He sinks it and McKenzie taps out just as he goes to sleep.
