Former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit received a rough welcome to the UFC in the form of Martin Kampmann at UFC Fight Night 18 this past Wednesday. The event was the promotion’s debut in Tennessee.
Kampmann and Condit went back and forth over the course of their three-round battle in Nashville, but it was Kampmann that established control throughout the better part of the 15-minute bout. He walked away with a split decision and his second win since moving down from the middleweight class.
He thrashed his knee along the way, suffering ligament damage, but Ultimate Fighter season 8 light heavyweight winner Ryan Bader won a unanimous decision over UFC veteran Carmelo Marrero.
