Round 1: Both fighters a little slow to engage. They clinch and wrestle along the fence for a minute and a half before the referee separates them. Barry starts chopping at Beltran with solid leg kicks. Beltran moves in though and drives home some nice body shots, pressing Barry against the cage, but lands a couple low blows, causing a break in the action. Round 2: Beltran looks like his mobility has been hampered by the leg kicks, kind of limping away from Barry. Beltran moves in, trying to dirty box, but Barry separates and keeps kicking Beltran’s legs. Beltran storms Barry and presses him to the cage with punches, then tries to stomp the feet of Barry. Beltran keeps him pressed on the cage, but the referee restarts them in the center of the Octagon. Beltran trying to move forward with punches, but Barry keeps chopping his legs and then goes high, catching Beltran with a head kick. Beltran can’t put much weight on his lead leg now, but keeps trying to press forward, eating kicks. Beltran fires off a couple punches and knees to the body as the round ends. Round 3: Both guys come out firing. Beltran continues to turn this into a punching brawl, but Barry keeps chopping at his legs and body with kicks. Beltran presses Barry into the cage, driving knees to Barry’s thigh and throwing short punches. As soon as they separate, even for a moment, Barry goes right back to the leg kick. Beltran keeps pressing Barry to the cage and dirty boxing. The referee restarts them in the center of the Octagon again. Barry just misses with a head kick, but then goes right back to chopping the legs. They exchange and Beltran immediately backs away, crumpling to the mat, covering his eye from a poke. They stop the fight to check Beltran’s eye and the doctor gives the thumbs up to continue. They pick it up with 1:30 left in the fight, Barry crushing Beltran’s left leg, Beltran flinching on every kick. He eats another one and falls to the mat. Barry goes down into half guard and then briefly to full mount before making Beltran stand. Beltran is grimacing as he puts weight on his left leg. Barry keeps pressing, kicking the leg until the final bell. Beltran, at the sound of the bell, collapses on the mat. MMAWeekly.com scores round three 10-8 and the fight 30-26 for Barry.
