As the promotion continues to expand its reach throughout the world, The Ultimate Fighting Championship today announced the addition of Turner Broadcasting veteran Michael Pine as Vice President of Ad Sales and Sponsorships for Zuffa, LLC. Pine will “manage and oversee all operations of the advertising and sponsorship business” for the UFC.
“I’m pleased that Michael has joined Zuffa, LLC to lead our sales and sponsorships division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship,” said Dana White, UFC President in a prepared statement. “His experience and depth of knowledge will be a major contribution to making the UFC a dominant sports brand in the US, UK and Europe.”
“I am thrilled to join Zuffa, and I look forward to helping the UFC achieve worldwide recognition not only as a mainstream sport, but also as a coveted leader in the advertising and sponsorships business,” said Pine. “Over the past several years, the UFC owners have executed a tactical business plan, and I am excited about working with them and helping the UFC to grow into the most omnipotent brand in the world of sports.”
Pine joins Zuffa, LLC leaving a similar position at CNN and having directed distribution efforts for 11 Turner Networks prior to that.
