After nearly five years on the inactive list, MMA veteran Benji Radach is returning to the cage.

MMAWeekly.com has confirmed that the former UFC, IFL, and Strikeforce fighter Benji “Razor” Radach will be making his return to active competition on May 15 at Bellator 137.

Radach (21-6-1) will be stepping in for an injured A.J. Mathews against up and comer Ben Reiter (15-0-1), making his promotional debut for one of the only fight companies he’s never fought for in the past.

Last seen against Ovince St. Preux at Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu 2 in December 2010, it’s been since 2008 that Radach picked up his last MMA win with a TKO finish of Murilo “Ninja” Rua, while fighting for the EliteXC promotion.

Reiter, on the other hand, is currently riding a five-fight winning streak following the only non-win of his career when he had a draw against Marcos Rogerio de Lima at Inka FC 22 in July 2013. Most recently, Reiter picked up a victory his Bellator debut last September against Shamir Garcia via unanimous decision.

Bellator 137 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Brandon Halsey and challenger Kendall Grove. It takes place on May 15 in Temecula, Calif.

oh wow, i thought bosse coming out of a 2 year retirement to replace rampage was crazy…. BUT 5 YEARS???? guess it’s hard to find a replacement to fight someone who is 15-0 on a week’s notice.

A win here will put him right back on the map

certainly would. hell they might even give him a shot at halsey if he can manage to pick up the win here.

That’s awesome to hear. Always good to see an old-schooler get back in the mix. He went on a tear on his first comeback, and gave some pretty damn exciting fights. I’ll be interested to see, however, if he can hang with the new breeds.
