DUBLIN, Ireland – Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson will step into the Octagon at UFC 93 on Saturday night to determine who will coach opposite Michael Bisping on season nine of The Ultimate Fighter. On Friday, they, along with the 18 other fighters, stepped onto the scales for the official UFC 93 weigh-in.
Both fighters are known for being successful in the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. This bout takes place in the heavier category, although both weighed in under the 205-pound limit. Henderson tipped the scale at 202 pounds, while Franklin notched it up at 203.
Frankling and Henderson were jovial afterwards, hamming it up as they squared off for photographers.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman returns to the Octagon for the first time in a decade, but in a new weight class. He appeared to have no trouble cutting weight as he stepped on the scale at 206 pounds. He rematches a man that he has beaten before – albeit in controversial fashion – in Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Returning from knee surgery, Rua stepped on the scale at 205 pounds.
Everyone expects Chris Lytle and Marcus Davis to put on a “Fight of the Night” performance. Both stepped on the scale with smiles on their faces and looked to be in excellent condition.
