The Ultimate Fighting Championship revealed the winners of the performance-based bonuses from UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz during the event’s post-fight press conference in Las Vegas on Saturday. Tim Boetsch, Thales Leites and Thiago Alves took home the $50,000 fighter bonuses.

Fight of the Night was awarded to the middleweight bout between Leites and Boetsch. The two slugged it out for the better part of two rounds with Boetsch hurting Leites on a couple of occasions. The Brazilian secured a takedown after being stunned in the second round. The jiu-jitsu black belt worked his way into position for an arm-triangle choke and put Boetsch to sleep.

The come-from-behind win by Leites also bagged the 33-year-old a Performance of the Night bonus. He collected an extra $100,000 on top of his fight purse and win bonus.

Veteran UFC welterweight Thiago Alves earned a Performance of the Night award for his second-round technical knockout of Jordan Mein. Mein had Alves in serious trouble in the opening round. He had the Brazilian covering up and retreating. Alves, known for his kicks, landed a kick to the body early in the second round that Mein was unable to absorb. The Canadian fell to the canvas ,and Alves quickly finished him off with follow-up strikes.

There should be a rematch between Thales and Anderson. That first fight was a joke, Thales had no striking skills…Now that Anderson doesn’t have the belt we could see a lot of funny matchups: This rematch, Anderson vs Bisping…

leites made the triangle choke position switches look relatively easy. i guess thats because boetsch has no ground game or ground defence.
