Hector Lombard defeated Josh Burkman in the opening main-card fight at UFC 182 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Lombard chased down Burkman, landing in much higher volume throughout the fight on his way to a unanimous decision with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

Burkman opened up well, countering with every combination thrown by his opponent. Lombard walked down Burkman a substantial amount of the first round. Burkman attempted two off-the-fence punches, but didn’t land with much success.
Lombard began to land punches in greater quantity in the second round. Burkman taunted, keeping his hands down and walking backwards, but that didn’t stop Lombard from landing significant strikes.
In the third round, Burkman continued backpedaling as Lombard walked him down. Lombard also employed leg kicks, giving his opponent a noticeable limp before cruising to the unanimous nod.
Wit the win, Lombard extends his win streak to three.
