The 22 fighters participating on the UFC 178: Johnson vs. Cariaso fight card on Saturday officially weighed in on Friday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The main event features flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson putting his belt on the line against Chris Cariaso, but the card doesn’t stop there. It also features former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez squaring off with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, as well as the return of Cat Zingano, as she squares off with Amanda Nunes, hoping to secure a shot at Ronda Rousey.
The champion is headed into Saturday’s fight with a lot of confidence.
“It’s another great challenge but I’m always on every time I fight. We’re gonna make it happen,” Johnson said after stepping off the scale.
His opponent, despite being a heavy underdog at the sports books, of course believes he’s prepared as well.
“I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m ready to go out there and put 100 percent out there and take the title from Demetrious Johnson,” said Cariaso.
Now that their bouts are official, we’ll find out just who is better prepared at UFC 178.
