Round 1: After find the right moments to strike in the first minute, Robertson and Alcantara clinched against the cage. Robertson secured the takedown and worked from guard, landing punches as Alcantara attempted to defend. Robertson remained on top and landed a number of punches and elbows, keeping Alcantara on his back, absorbing a number of strikes through the end of the first round.
Round 2: Alcantara attempted head kicks, but the were met with a mixture of strikes from Robertson. In closing the distance, Robertson ducked his head and threw numerous wild punches, none of which caused major damage. Robertson shot in and brought the fight to the ground. After landing some short strikes Robertson couldn’t keep Alcantara on the ground, and the fight returned to the feet. Robertson was relentless, however, and go Alcantara down again, this time securing full mount. Robertson worked for a kimura, eventually letting go and raining elbows and punches from side control.
Round 3: After landing a standing elbow, Robertson landed knee below Alcantara’s belt and brought a pause to the fight. Once the fight resumed, the fighters traded kicks. Robertson attempted a takedown, but it was stuffed. In a scramble, Robertson landed another knee to the groin that brought a stop to the fight. The referee warned Robertson not to land another or he would take away a point. After the fight resumed again, Alcantara secured a trip takedown, but Robertson effectively scored a sweep to gain top position. Robertson then worked his ground and pound until 15 seconds left in the round when the fighters were stood up by the referee. Alcantara landed one more takedown before the end of the fight.
