Chris Camozzi vs. Bruno Santos
Round 1: Camozzi and Santos measured before Camozzi landed front kicks. Camozzi lunged forward with a punch combination, but made no damage. Santos, too, attempted moving forward, but couldn’t land anything flush. Camozzi entered range and landed a right hand, attempting to secure a Thai clinch after. Santos escaped to a body clinch, and the two separated. Santos secured a clinch again and worked to get the takedown, but Camozzi fended off all efforts through the end of the round.
Round 2: Santos opened up with a punch combination. Camozzi attempted a flying knee, but he was caught and slammed to the ground. Santos worked from full guard, find it difficult to pass and advance position. Camozzi landed elbows from his back. After a break in action to return Santos’ mouthguard to his mouth, Santos worked to side control, but Camozzi pushed him back down to full guard. Santos advanced again, but Camozzi returned to the feet. Santos, however, was able to secure another takedown and remained in guard until time expired.
Round 3: Camozzi landed a number of inside leg kicks, staying at a distance to avoid Santos’ power punches. He later scored with consecutive jabs, but Santos scored a big takedown as Camozzi tried to hold onto the fence. Santos spent the next several moments attempting to pass, while Camozzi held off with a kimura attempt. Camozzi returned to the feet and ate a few shots in the process, eventually trying to turn up the pace with strikes. Santos then secured another takedown, largely holding onto Camozzi through the end of the fight.
