Kajan Johnson vs. Tae Hyun Bang

Round 1: Johnson takes the center of the cage.  He steps in and land a right hand.  Bang answers with a jab.  Johnson lands a head kick, but Bang walks through it.  Johnson changes levels and secures a single leg takedown, landing in side control.  Bang works to reverse the position and gets to his feet.  Johnson steps in with a right hand.  They exchange.  Bang lands a counter left hook that drops Johnson.  Bang follows him to the canvas.  Johnson rolls and recovers.  He rolls for a leg and gets back to his feet.  Bang lands a right hand and Johnson looks to get the fight to the ground.  Bang has none of it and shakes off the takedown attempt.  Johnson lands a counter left hand.  He delivers a knee to the body followed by a right hand.  Johnson takes Bang down and lands in side control.  Bang scrambles to his feet at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Bang with the knock down, but it was a close round even with it.

Round 2: Johnson lands first in the second frame with an outside leg kick.  They both miss, but Bang is swinging for the fences.  Johnson goes to the body with a right hand.  Bang presses forward.  He lands a right hand.  Johnson deicides to get the fight to the ground.  He does, but Bang applies a guillotine choke and uses it to reverse Johnson.  Bang postures up and lands a right hand.  Johnson works to isolate a leg.  Bang gets to his feet only to be taken down.  Both fighters are bleeding.  Bang gets back to his feet and they separate.  Johnson takes deep breaths.  Johnson steps in with his jab.  Bang misses with a spinning back fist.  The pace has slowed.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Johnson.

Round 3: Bang inches forward behind his jab.  Bang lands a right hand.  Johnson doubles up on his jab.  Johnson looks for a takedown, but Bang stuffs it.  Johnson lands a head kick and Bang counters with a right hand that knocks Johnson out.  Bang follows him to the ground and the referee recognizes Johnson is out and stops the fight.

The official time of the stoppage was 2:01 of the third and final round.

“My body felt very heavy and I didn’t give my best performance but I’m still happy that I was able to walk away with the finish. Next time I’ll show the fans just how good I can be in that Octagon.”
