Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and challenger Anderson Silva face off at Friday’s UFC 168 weigh-ins in Las Vegas.

Silva hit the mark at 185 pounds, while the champion, Weidman, weighed 184 pounds. Their staredown was intense, but respectful, as Silva bowed to Weidman.

If Anderson does not show boat he should be able to beat Chris on points and I bet thats the game plan.. He has an awesome standup game, very rarely do you see him get 100% serious, no show boating = a very dangerous Anderson

I just hope it’s an amazing card & everyone who orders it gets their money’s worth. Weidman should go for wrestling early when fresh & try to wear down Silva quickly, and Silva should be extra aware of the shot & sprawl to keep it standing. All Andy needs to do is stay technical, land something nice early, and we’ll get to see what this fight should’ve been like in the first place.

What do you mean what this fight shouldnt have been like in the first place? This is how Silva fights. He has knocked out lots of people with that same style. Face the facts….Silva met his match in this fight.

It wasn’t intense at all Weidman was pretty much chillin and Anderson was calm and respectful

If Weidman uses his wrestling more in this fight he will win again.

Does this mean Anderson will keep his hands up in the fight?

  • David Huenecke

Its been awhile since ive seen silva put up his hands in a face-off.

LOL Silva pulled a GSP square off with Weidman. I hope this is not an omen, but it looks like he will retire after he beats/KO’s Weidman. Think about it: There are rumor talks that he will retire (win, lose or draw) and plus he looks so happy, as if this is his last day at work, as if this was his last fight and then he can ride into the sunset of his career victorious knowing nobody accomplished what he accomplished! I’m sure after he retires, out of pity, the UFC will let Weidman get KO’ed again by Lyoto for the vacated MW title Silva will vacate tonight. This is going to be awesome, I can’t wait for the main event to come!!!

Reading between the lines, i sense envy on your part and even hatred for weidmans achievements, vicory over silva mainly. Its pitiful. Weidman put in hard work to be where he is and he is champion of world as a result.
