Rousey needs to be paid more cash. Bring Cyborg in a big paydate.

    • Mark McDowall

Your nuts if you think she isn’t getting HUGE PPV buy bonuses. I bet she made the better part of a half mil for this fight.

      • Justin

Pretty sure she isn’t getting ppv %.

        • Maddawgmar

How are you so sure? Love her or hate her she is a huge draw. People will tune in to see her fight. Haters will watch in hopes she loses, and fans will watch to see her win. But money is being spent because of her. Thus she is getting a percentage.

          • David Huenecke

Sorry to disagree but i dont think anyone bought that fight for the co-main event. It was just an added bonus to the silva-weidman fight.

          • 8_6_oh Bro!

Dude, you f’n serious. I wanted to see Rousey break Tate’s arm off more than the GOAT going against the young blood. They both deserve wayyy more than what they were paid!

      • armbars

She made over a million for her first fight. For this fight, she definitely did as well. She gets ppv points in her contract as long as she is the champ. She also gets paid to promote the fight in addition to ppv and her purse.

        • Mark McDowall

That wouldn’t surprise me at all.

      “RFC” Rousey Fears Cyborg!

      • fsunoles10

cyborg is a dude, you just want rousey to lose cuz you dont like her personality but the girl is bad. but the thing with cyborg is all she does is talk but never put forth an effort to make it happen. rousey is champ but you want her to move up to fight, lets saybigfoot silva was calling out jon jones, you think jones should go up and fight nelson and if he doesnt he must be scared? thats the logic i see used by the rousey haters a lot and its fairly dumb and obviously driven by their dislike of rousey.

        • fsunoles10

          *fight silva hah wtf

          • Wolf Ticket

Hehe, seems like you were still thinking about Santa Clause subconsciously, which triggered a connection to Roy Nelson in your brain (based on the physical resemblance of the two).

        • BA

Jones would crush Bigfoot or Nelson… easy. Just saying. As for cyborg, people seem to have built her up to be this unbeatable machine. I just watched the Carano fight again, I couldn’t believe how much time she spent on the bottom, if that happens w / Rousey it’s game over. Cyborg’s too reckless, if she goes in too wild, she’s just gonna run into a judo match and loose her arm. If she stays patient and stays in the center of the cage, it’s her fight to win.

        • Big Tuna

Cyborg should fight in the mens division

        • David Huenecke

I want rousey to lose cause shes a two trick pony. Judo takedown to armbar. Yes it effective and has won many matches. Its also up to her opponents to be able to counter it. But its like royce in the first ufcs. They didnt know how to handle him so he could use basic skills to win. I just want someone to come along who has ground skills to counter her. Her fights are boring because they all follow the same formula.

        • drkdisciple

Here is what is “fairly dumb”..saying that cyborg is a dude and quickly forgetting that Rousey already fought at 145. Cyborg might not be an attractive woman but she is one hell of a fighter. Furthermore Bones plans on moving up to heavyweight so a fight with Bigfoot is more then possible.

Dana white is the don king of MMA

  • It’s sad to see Anderson Silva’s fighting career end like this. You can tell it was painful by just watching but I can’t even imagine to be in his position. Fighters don’t just scream and yell like that, they could resist 10x the pain we normal human beings can, especially Anderson Silva. I wish him the best.

Fight wise, he’s done. Career wise? Skies the limit.

    • solo

Man, you’ve said everything i was thinking. So unfortunate to end like that. I had such a shitty feeling in my stomach cause of that.

      Its so so sad!!!

Im amazed he didnt pass out from the pain. Always a true fan of GOAT Anderson ” the spider” Silva.

  • julian moran

Tate gets paid as much to fight as Browne? That is wrong.

    • julian moran

Browne needs to be paid more.

    • Big Tuna

No actually Browne doubled her pay

      • julian moran

They got paid the same amount to fight. Browne also got paid a win bonus, Tate lost her fight, so did not.

  • solo

Chris made possibly 10 times more than he did in the first fight. I remember he got 50000 from PPV last time.

  • TheCerealKiller

Browne needs to fire his agent! How does a top ten fighter get paid so little?

    • Justin

He makes more than lighter champions have made sometimes. Hw is garbage. Top 10 don’t mean shit.

  • Get2DaChoppa

Boxing overpays and mma underpay…which is worse?

    • Ray Lane

Boxing only overpays the top guys. They WAY underpay the lower card guys

    • Big Tuna

No kidding Dana white has 50k tabs at restaraunts and Tate made 28k she promoted the heck out of that thing

  • SilvaGOAT4ever

I bet you Dana won’t be forcing immediate rematches on his top guys after this. He must feel guilty that’s why he gave Anderson 600K instead of the 400K he made last time when he fought CW the first time. Wow unbelievable!!!

  • stacks

GOAT MMA fighter makes what an under card boxer makes. Talk about MMA monopoly by the UFC. I can’t help but feel sorry for MMA fighters

    • armbars

      They never read do they?

      When will the ignorance cease?

“UFC 168 took place December 28, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. As always, the entire UFC 168 payroll can be seen below, although these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as sponsorship money and discretionary post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed.”

Anderson Silva made around 4m for this fight. Weidman and Rousey also both made over a million.

Undercard boxers make complete dirt unless they are a big named co headliner. You should see what guys on the undercards of big boxing fights make-it is usually less than the undercards of mma events. In boxing it is all or nothing, in mma it is almost all or nothing.

Do some research and then try to make an educated post for once in your life.

  • El Gvapo

These salary stories are like Groundhog Day. ” I can’t believe x only made $20k, boxers make so much more, Dana is ripping these guys off” yadda yadda yadda. It’s been stated many, many times before that these guys get locker room bonuses, PPV cuts, sponsorships and much more.

    • james j

      Yeah, sure they do.

The lowest pay here is $8K whereas Most WBC, IBC, and WBF undercard boxers make no more than $1000,,, do your research and ask an undercard Boxer yourself !!!!

  • 8_6_oh Bro

Wow, Tate could have gotten her arm broken for only 28K? No wonder why she didn’t try to fight the arm bar this time lol. F#ck sponsors they should be getting their fair due from their MAIN f’n employer!! I feel bad for her.
