UFC 168 Extended Video Preview: Can Anderson Silva Take the Belt Back from Chris Weidman?

Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

In July, Chris Weidman shocked the world by knocking out Anderson Silva. On Dec. 28th, Weidman defends the UFC middleweight title in a rematch. Plus, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey defends her crown against heated nemesis Miesha Tate.

Joe Rogan is such an idiot.

    • Corey Hutton

And that’s why Dana White likes him.

I’ve noticed that UFC fans have really turned on Rogan over the last couple years. He used to get a lot more respect than he does now. He has been getting on my nerves too. Mostly because of his stupid, one-sided comments during fights. I’ve lost count of the number of times Rogan will be going on and on about how incredible a fighter is, all the while that same fighter is getting detroyed right in front of him and he doesn’t even acknowledge it.

First of all, Silva beat Silva. Don’t want to take the credit away from
Weidman, but Silva dominated the fight. He lost due to his clowning.
Weidman is over-hyped and must live up to the hype, If Weidman wins the
fight then I agree that he deserved it. I don’t think Silva is going to
joke around this time and will knock-out Weidman within the first 2min
of the fight. After Silva wins back the belt he will retire…Anyway,
this is the last time we will see Silva in the Ocatagon…Then Joe Rogan will kiss Silva’s @ss and over sell the fight as the best ever…

to say silva dominated the fight is ricidulas, weidman dominated the ground and while i agree anderson was edging the standup- he done no damage to weidman on his feet at all- sure he made weidman look foolish a few times with his clowning around but weidman showed mental strength not to get reckless and leave himself wide open to a ko from silva. silva kept his hand down to help his takedown defence after the fight hit the mat and if he is worried about weidman taking him down again then he will have to be selective with his striking in this fight so its all set up for another cracking fight

I agree that Silva’s stupidity lost the fight, but I didn’t see him dominating before that. The first round was even, and neither had landed any significant strikes. I love Silva’s fighting ability, but he has lost me as a fan due to his disrespectful behavior toward challengers. Weidman went to touch gloves at the start of the fight and Silva left him hanging. Then, getting in Chris’s face at the end of the 1st. I’m sick of Silva pretending to be mad that opponents won’t exchange when he is the one just dancing around and not fighting.
Like Dana has said, if you’re good enough to knock a dude out in the first 30 seconds, DO IT. Quit it with the mockery, the dancing, karate stance bull$#!, etc. I want so bad for Weidman to crush Silva again and send him into retirement with back to back losses.

silva does it during every fight but since he finally got caught in the process this time its oooo silva handed him the fight but you know damn well if it would have been another silva ko you would be talking about how great silva is and this and that. regardless of the excuses the reality is weidman put silva to sleep period.

Anderson Silva is not only a good fighter, he recreated the style of bruce lee. That is why the veteran fighters in the ufc respect him so much. And that make me laugh when i see these haters… Silva ” style ” is the hardest to learn and to apply. Be Water My Friend -
