I hope Gust is ready, they need to stop calling Barao “interim” champ. Dominic hasn’t been in the cage since Oct. 2011.

      It’s almost 2014 now!

prediction Jones will be destroyed why because Alex is the same size with better striking. Being long and tall with skills is an amazing advantage. Silva is an over sized middle weight Jones is a over sized Lt heavyweight. Weidman is the first middle weight to be as long and tall as silva Alex is the first to be as long and tall as Jones. When your way larger than your foe its easy to toss them around like a rag doll. Jones has never been rocked or challenged in any way. I predicted the 2 round KO of Silva and this will end in the first or second.

      huh…no.
Sonnen is the same size as Silva(and stronger)
      Griffin is bigger than Silva
Okami is the same size as Silva
Bonnar is the same size as Silva.

Rampage and Rashad have more raw power than Jones. Jones just knows how to turn his strong points into advantages. The as Silva during his reign.
I don’t think Gustaffson has what it needs to defeat Jones, and that is KO power. He’s indeed a great striker, and knows how to mix it up well, but Jones is better than him in everything.
The size equality will play a secundary role IMO.
Jones has the reach advantage, and is the best wrestler on the division…so I don’t think Gustafson will be throwing lots of kicks to find his striking range.

Jones last 2 wins were against middle weights chael sonnen and belfort ,before that was a past his prime rampage and a past his prime shogun his only credible wins were against lyoto machida who’s better days are behind him for ssure and rashad Evans who’s best wins were aagainstt chuck Liddell who was way past his prime and rampage who was on a long lay off and past his prime ,I truly do t this k he’s been tested yet for him to be considered great he will have to fight people in his weight class and In there prime that being said, stylistcly Jones is a bad match up for gust gusts take defence is no good..

        • Lucas Freire

That’s a way to take away Jon Jones’s merits on demolishing the whole division.
You only say these guys are past their prime because Jones demolished all of them.
Just remember how the LHW was the most competitive division before Jon Jones appeared.
Shogun was the champ and came of an outstanding KO against Lyoto, Lyoto was unstoppable until this fight, Rampage had only a loss and a controversial win against Machida in his last 5 fights, Evans had lost only to Machida since…forever.

What you depicted on your comment is the evolution of the sport, on how old champions look bad when compared to the new breed, given time for the new breed to develop. The LHW and HW already went through this moment, the MW is on the verge and even though GSP is still a dominant champion, there are a lot of prospects on the division.

Sounds like you’re making excuses for why your favorite fighters lost

  • grand pa killer !

Im pulling for Gus in this fight, I don’t know why I never took to Jones. Don’t get me wrong, he’s the best I’ve seen at 205 ….

    • Werdoomb

best I’ve seen at any weight class.

      • grand pa killer !

Just think if Jose Aldo was 6’5 245lbs ?

  • grand pa killer !

Greg Jackson is not Dumb enough to put his champ against the challengers strongest skill ? Are you kidding me .. Come one guys you know how it goes.
Jackson’s champs always tie you up against the cage until they get the take down ( winning the judges ) Until the 3rd when the challengers winded, than they start to box when the other guys already done. ( This wins over the Fans )
