This card has the potential to redefine and realign the welterweight hierarchy in one fell swoop. Big repercussions possible here …

Yeah. Kind of. Obviously if Diaz is able to fight and he wins (but he won’t win) that will change things a lot. But GSP ain’t gonna fight Rory if he beats Condit, we don’t need to see a Condit/GSP rematch yet, and Jake wouldn’t deserve a shot if he wins (not really). I’d say Maia would deserve it in that scenario if he beats fitch (but he won’t). I doubt they would give fitch another shot if he beats Maia. Obviously if Hendricks wins there is a clear contender (that will fight GSP), and if the Diaz fight falls through again they need to bump Hendricks to the title fight. But if the Hendricks or Maia fight doesn’t happen, then what? GSP doesn’t want (and shouldn’t fight Silva). I vote for GSP vs Aldo (if he gets past Edgar) at a catch weight of 163 or GSP vs Ben Henderson for the WW title.

thats the stupidest **** ive ever heard when did you start watchin the ufc yesterday lol

  • Danv25

McDonald and Ellenberger can definately do just that. Diaz on the other hand (and i’m a huge fan) has a slim to none chance beating GSP. I think it’s gonna look a lot like Smooth vs. Nate on this one. I hope I’m wrong though.

Why would Aldo fight 20 pounds out of his weight class

    • kevin

apparently he thinks that aldo is superman or somthing

give maia the winner of condit mcdonald and then if hendricks wins give him the winner of gsp/diaz. I think they should change the way they do things when a championship fight is scheduled they should have the #1 contender fight at the same event that way it helps with the build up to the next title fight

    • your a tard

that made no sense, The majority of the card is welter weights. You dont think hendricks, condit, ellenburger or rory are top contenders? who do you think should get the next title shot at welter weight? frank mir? lol

  • Ron Couden

Let’s do this Nick!!! Many think this will go down just like Nate & Bendo, lets prove them wrong.

you know whatd be a sick match up? cub swanson vs shane carwin! GSP has a hard time cutting to 170 he walks around at nearly 200 pounds, no way would he be able to hit 163 which is also an awkward catch weight he would be drained. although i am highly doubting diaz will win. I like the guy and all but GSP is gonna be to much for him.

I think a lot of people were counting Nick out against Sakurai, and look what happened there. I’m a GSP fan and from Montreal, but I think Nick has a better chance than most, he’s going to get under GSPs skin and that will affect his game, plus Diaz is pretty unconventional, I’m not sure GSP has ever fought anyone that he didn’t know what to expect to some extent.
