UFC 157 Media Call: Ronda Rousey Has Hash Words for Cyborg, Respect for Liz Carmouche

Ronda Rousey vs Liz Carmouche

Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche

Ronda Rousey had some harsh word for Cris “Cyborg” Santos during the UFC 157 conference call with the media, but showed nothing but respect for Liz Carmouche, her UFC 157 main event opposition.

Carmouche reciprocated, while both women had a lot to say about the UFC’s commitment to bringing them, and women’s MMA in general into the Octagon.

Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida were also on the call to discuss their co-main event bout.

Rousey and Henderson, both former Olympians, also addressed the IOC’s decision to remove wrestling from the Olympic Games.

It’s just with a New England accent.

Just learned herein that Wrestling was removed from the Olympic games. WTF!!?

With all the dumb a$$ events we’re seeing pop out of the woodwork, they choose to remove wrestling. A sport that demands an athlete leave everything on the mat; a sport nearly second to none in demanding a complete package of its athletes – a combination of cardio, strength, muscle endurance, technique, flexibility … 3 minutes of pure, physical hell.

    And they remove it …

Wrestling is among the original Olympic events dating back to ancient Greece. I find the decision abhorrent to say the least.

not disagreeing, but at least this could mean that bjj will be put in for the olympics in brazil

If there is a bright side to this dumb decision, maybe it will be good for MMA? There are alot of people that would make great fighters who are doing amateur wrestling instead. Now MMA is their only major post-college option.

Idiot boy… Olympic wrestling is why you have great MMA fighters!

        • Maddawgmar

I agree 100%. If there is no Olympics for wrestlers there is no goal for wrestlers to try and achieve. NCAA champion, okay. But Olympic Gold Medalist, c’mon. IMO quality level of wrestlers will drop without that motivation.

She has “hash” words from spending too much time with Nick Diaz.

    • upindatazz

wow you’re quite the creative one, aren’t cha? if i could pat you on the head i would!

    • onehitwonder

hash with Diaz would be excellent!!

  • drkdisciple

Respect for Liz Carmouche? of course its an easy fight for her! Cyborg would expose that one trick pony fast enough!

    • Andrew

Cyborg wouldn’t expose anything against Rousey. That juiced up ape of a woman shouldn’t even be aloud to get a license. Take the roids out of her training routine and she will naturally fall under the 135lb weight limit, she doesn’t want to come off the juice because she knows that with out she would be nothing in MMA.
