Chael Sonnen wins this fight based on one fact – he has never lost due to a KO or TKO. When a guy fights 30 times and never losses in that way he probably never will. Because of that fact alone and the fact that Chael has a unmatched desire to suceed – Chael wins.

Becsuse of the fighter Chael is, It severely limits the ways Anderson can win the fight. It limits him to a surprise submission and how often do those happen? Submissions are generally the end after one guy gives up (getting beat up on the ground and rolls over resulting in a rear naked choke) but Chael will not be on his back in this fight. It’s just a bad matchup up for Anderson who is the better fighter but not in case.

I realize that some of this is reaching but this is what I believe.

    Chael wins. Bet the house.

I hope you can live without the money you will lose.

Silva in UFC: 14-0 (12 finishes 10 title wins)
Sonnen in UFC: 6-4 (1 finish 0 title wins)

if that is not enough, check the odds 😛

Sonnen can win, but there is no reason to believe in that..

    >> he has never lost due to a KO or TKO. When a guy fights 30 times and never losses in that way he probably never will

    do you remember Fedor?

    • mrsister

Chael might lose to a HW via KO. Chael is every bit as big as Fedor and Bigfoot cuts to 265.

  • Iamrozylo

Chris Leben had never been knocked out either…

    • The first time Chael came close to knocking Silva out standing and on the ground.

The one thing no one is talking about is how much Silva’s grappling improved. Maybe he can pull off a Werdum and sub Chael early when they are both dry.

  • spidersilva

Im not concerned at all whether u can live without the money u lose.

  • spidersilva

And great point about surprise submissions. I didnt see that one vs maia coming at all. 2 mins in and he pulls guard, drags sonnen down and triangles him. Was really a shocker… moron

I don’t think Dan Henderson has ever been Ko’d and I think that Silva was well on his way to doing so before he (not in any surprise fashion) submitted him brutally after beating him down in round 2. Patrick Cote has a good chin and silva was simply outstriking and destroying him until he got hurt…Demain Maia (who beat Chael) got beat by Anderson and Anderson didn’t even do much…not to say that your idea is flawed because it is certainly possible…but I think the only other time we have seen Anderson this motivated or fired up was against Chris Leben (formerly never KO’d either…though not in 30 fights) and Anderson paved the path for his weakening chin throughout Leben’s career.

that having been said Chael is good but very very very flawed and Anderson…though not the best take down defense is otherwise flawless! in all regards.

    • Cote landed some jarring punches on Anderson and the striking battle was competitive.

    • mrsister

I respect what you say about Henderson. It’s a legit point.

BTW – Henderson is going to get mauled by Jones. That is a ridiculous matchup. The reach advantage and size is absurd. Hendo has no chance.

  • natpaukar7

which…my mistake I realized I never stated…is basically another way Anderson can win outside of Submission and KO…he is just all around better than Chael…IMO

  • wiiliamstanley

Cheal is just as bad of a match up for silva tomorrow night as he was two years ago and two years ago…….Silva won, made Cheal tap. In Hindsight, Silva obviously was a bad match up for Cheal. Let the best man win.

  • stak

I’m surprised the disrespectful and unprofessional Silva didn’t try to start an altercation at the weigh in.

  • leugim41004

Silva could and should get fined for that shoulder throw, its consider a strike

    • stak

wait, he did try something? shit, I missed it.

      • leugim41004

Silva practically did a Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans shoulder strike to the face lol

    • Booker T

I agree, that was dirty. Chael kept composed, which was good. I would’ve liked to see Silva do that to someone like Tyson. There would have been an all out brawl at the way in. Dana would’nt have been able to stop Tyson.

  • kevstinx

Goes to show, If you tell a lie enough people will start to believe it 😉 Now get marching. Sell sell sell, advertising to the sheep. The demographic on here 10 – 14? Sonnen can’t be beaten? He consistently taps out, not sure how people forget this, or is this part of the grand premature dementia setting in? Blinded by your stripes and dirty stars? Sonnen turns this “sport” into a circus show. Expecting a ladder match next.

I signed in and still can’t watch the video…???? typical.

You’d have to be either gay for Chael ( which is fine) or just painfully stupid to buy his manipulation. He’s good at entertaining and developing his character. He has admitted to being a “competitor who uses every means possible to win his fights” including PEDs. I may be ignorant and they be the norm ( PEDS) but he was caught with elevated testosterone levels for the last fight which none of you Chael fan want to admit. Some PEDs are considered legal but he was caught in the last fight with Silva with illegal levels of T. It’s just a fact.
He never talks about the Maia fight.
It very simple, the guy has nothing for Jui Jitsu, even elevated T levels don’t help.

I think the whole thing has been contrived. Anderson is a weirdo. The previous fight goes 4.5 rounds with Chael taking him down the whole time and then, with 3 minutes Anderson suddenly find a way to submits him… BS…

I took Maia less the one round to submit him. It all just doesn’t add up.

This whole rivalry has been contrived. And you, nailed it kevstinx this is one step away from WWF.

    Just my rambling $0.02

  • somecokehead

I said essentially the same thing about a week ago. My comment was shorter though. Hate to write a response as long as the article.

  • spidersilva

Has anyone asked sonnen about the elavated t levels and the maia fight? Those would be my first two questions in a press conference. I got a feeling that the ufc wont let anyone ask those 2 questions. I understand y but i saw that fight and remember that sonnen got suspended. I think most sonnens fans are either new ufc people or silva haters.
