Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin face off at UFC 147 press conferenceWanderlei Silva, Rich Franklin, Rodrigo Damm, and Marcus Vinicius received $65,000 bonuses for their performances at UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin earned Fight of the Night, Rodrigo Damm earned Submission of the Night, and Marcus Vinicius won Knockout of the Night.

UFC president Dana White announced the bonuses via twitter shortly after UFC 147 came to a close.

Rich Franklin defeated Wanderlei Silva in a five-round war for the ages.  Franklin won the first, third, fourth, and fifth rounds, but Silva was just moments away from finishing Franklin in the second round.  In the fifth round, Silva bull rushed Franklin and the two went toe-to-toe towards the end of the fight, Franklin managing to drop Silva to a knee just before the horn.  The judges all scored it 49-46 in favor of Franklin.

Featherweight Rodrigo Damm picked up his first win in the Octagon when he submitted Anistavio Medeiros de Figueiredo with a rear naked choke after stunning him early in the first round.

Marcus Vinicius made his presence felt with a come from behind TKO win over Wagner Campos in the third round.  The first two rounds, Campos controlled much of the fight, but things turned around for Vinicius as he landed a flying knee to Campos’s stomach, followed by a hard knee in the clinch and devastating punches on the ground.

I loved this fight. Wanderlei is my favorite fighter ever, but I love Franklin. But…as much as I would have loved the 2nd rd to have been stopped, Rich was still there. Good reffing my Yamasaki. This does prove though, Wanderlei is not done yet. Great fight!

Wandy went to distance with Franklin…and that means that he is not done yet?

The dude was a #1 LHW at one time. As years went by, he was forced to move down to MW and then got KTFO by Leben.
