UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit Weigh-in Video

Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit at UFC 143Before they meet on Saturday night, Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz first squared off at the UFC 143 weigh ins on Friday in Las Vegas.

Diaz and Condit both hit the scales at 169 pounds, and then faced off eye to eye for the final time before meeting in the Octagon with the interim welterweight title up for grabs.

Josh Koscheck also came nose to nose, literally, with Mike Pierce during the UFC 143 weigh ins. The two fighters have built up quite a grudge leading to this fight, and on Saturday night they’ll finally settle it.

MMAWeekly.com was live on the scene and here is the video of the UFC 143 weigh ins:

It looked like Condit was imitating Diaz! I also see Nelson and Kos winning. I think Nelson might land a KO in the 1st!

Diaz is going to get beaten badly in this fight. He’s only fought BJ so far in the UFC who’s biggest win recently was against an old Matt Hughes. I don’t think Nick would get past some over the close to top 10 WW in the UFC. There’s MMA competition and there is UFC competition. Nick beat the best of the outside UFC competition. His pa Jake Shields is living proof of that. 10 years unbeaten, comes to the UFC – one razer close split decision, one unanimous decision loss, and one destructive loss. Welcome to the UFC Nick!!!!!

You obviously haven’t watched many Diaz fights.

No, not many, only all of them. Especially the ones he’s won since the KJ loss…………..completely ripping through top 10 competition! LOLOLOLOL!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I’d never miss a fight – he’s one of the most exciting fighters in the division, but definitely doesn’t deserve the ranking or the title shot. Its his mouth and personality, or lack thereof, that got him here (unleash RonnieV).

Seriously, don’t you dare say anything negative about either of the Diaz brothers or RonnieV will unleash his psychologically unstable fury.

I agree with you, b-soc. I see this fight as more of a coin flip as far as skill of the fighters, but I just have a feeling Condit is going to win.

How many times do you think fighters are going to let Diaz get away with his style of boxing before someone gets wise to it?

Maybe it won’t be Condit, but Diaz won’t last long if he does beat Condit.

lol…Thanks KBEsq, I apologize for the “psychological unstable fury.” I’ve said many times that I will eat crow if Nick loses tonight(without ever disrespecting Condit). If Nick wins, hopefully it will shut up his nay-sayers saying he doesn’t deserve his ranking. Regardless, I’m sticking with my prediction that Condit wins the first, even knocks Diaz down once. It will be a close second. In the third Condit will start getting into deep water, and Diaz wins in the 4th. For Condit to win (which he could), he needs to do it in the first two rounds.

UMMMM Diaz has fought in the UFC many times, and has looked great fighting around the world. You need to give him his due.

I really like Diaz and Condit, and obviosuly this fight could go either way, but I think its crazy to count Diaz out. The pressure he applies and his accuracy are second to none in the WW division, and his BJJ is solid. Condit has power, a very well rounded game and incredible heart. Not sure why anyone at the weigh-ins would boo Carlos cause I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about the guy, and I’ll be excited for him if he wins, but I think Nick is going to do to Condit exactly what Nate Diaz did to Cowboy…those Diaz brothers seem like men on a mission, and I’ve got huge respect for both of them. Big fights in their future.

Nick fought in the UFC before. It’s not like he is a rookie or anything. I agree he hasn’t beat that great of competition in strikeforce, but he murdered them, save Noons, and he avenged that. He knows how to compete at the highest level.

That being said I hope Condit wins this fight. He has a more rounded stand up game, Diaz has great boxing but nothing else standing. Both are high level BJJ, but Diaz is far better. Condit has good enough BJJ not to get caught. This is a great match up. Can’t wait.

This Pierce has some serious balls . Thats just insane–hes waving the proverbial red flag in front of the bull. If Josh took this guy lightly before, you can count on him to destroy Pierce now after being humiliated publicly–bad move

For the first time in years, I’m actually pulling for Koscheck. Pierce doesn’t impress me, and he’s a boring fighter.

Third Primetime was sick! Tonight will be war! No disrespect to the other fighters, but lets get straight to the main event!

Nick Diaz will win this fight by late TKO or unanimous decision. He knows that his style of walking through punches and moving forward might not be the best of game plans for Condit. I wouldn’t be surprised to see plenty of grappling in this fight. I do like both fighters but Diaz is the man. He has been my favorite fighter since the Chuck Liddell card where he KO’d Lawler. If you have not seen that fight, stop what you are doing and track that **** down. Fun stuff. Condit is very well rounded and if he does win it will be by KO…not sub…not decision. I can’t wait for this fight.
    Diaz UD
    Nelson KO/TKO
    Koscheck(of course)UD
