Why Belfort vs Johnson Johnson is up and coming welterweight contender give him ellenberger Give Belfort Tito Ortiz, ace Franklin, Griffin or Hardy this 4 fighters are not there to run at the title their just there for the show….

Johnson asked for the fight.. and he’s already fought franklin, not in the same weight class as tito, forrest or hardy. plus he would easily knock all those guys out. he will probably do the same to johnson tho haha. he should fight Munoz or maybe Maia to see where those guys really stand in the division.

your an idiot, Johnson didnt ask for the fight, he was offered the fight and said he would take it cuz its a challenge for him to move up to 185. vitor will lose to Johnson……bitch

im a bitch because i know what I’m talking about? if you actually think johnson will win your a fuckin moron…. i thought i heard that when vitor was available for a fight johnson said he wanted the challenge… so he asked for it.

you don’t know what you’re talking about if you think johnson asked for this fight lol, proof enough for me.
on paper johnson has a lot less overall experience, but in the cage has shown a lot more well roundedness and a larger arsenal of finishing tools.
will he win for sure? who the **** knows, that’s what they’re fighting to find out. does he have a chance? absolutely.
vitor has fast hands and the rest is all a mystery at this point in his career as far as i’m concerned. and unless you train with him and get to see something different than the rest of us have since 2007, whatever you say beyond that is moot.

Venanciotan what welterweight career are you talking about? Johnson couldn’t even beat koshcheck and he can’t even make weight. Stop f*cking whinning moron! Vitor will win, period, so take up the *ss and shut the hell up. I can tell you know nothing about MMA because of your stupid *ss comments. Go jack-off or something kid.

Thats exactly the point why waiste Johnsons welterweight career If what they only want is to give Belfort a win to get him back as middleweight contender…….

I got Johnson. Age is the major factor in this fight. Johnson is young in his career and pretty well-rounded. Vitor has great hands but his speed has deminished with age. Vitor has been in the game a long time and I see his end nearing. It’s not that he is old but his career has been long and tough. Vitor has had a great career but I dont see him winning this fight.
Nedkov is a fighter to watch. He is exciting and 12-0. Luis Cane was Nedkov’s first test and he punched right on through.
I also believe Aldo will remain the champ and outwork Mendes. Mendes is an awesome opponent. Aldo/Mendes should be a great Main Event.

Id be lying if I said I saw Johnson vs. Belfort coming. I really didnt expect it but either way its an awesome match up. Youth vs. expierience, both guys have highlight reel knockouts in the UFC and both guys have good stand up. Should be a brawl to the finish.
Aldo vs. Mendes is an awesome match up too. I think Mendes gets finished in this one however. I dont think his chin has really been tested so far in his career. If Aldo catches him hes in a world of trouble.

Wow, people talking about other peoples posts calling them stupid, the calling them bitch or other derogatory name. That jus shows your own lack of intelligence. I, personally, am very excited about that fight. Two very aggressive strikers fighting that have good speed. Johnson has a wrestling background, and Belfort BJJ. This is, stylistically, a great match up. Young buck v old bull. Both can win this fight, who will impose their will? Great match up. The reason the UFC brass put this fight together is because they are in Rio. Stack the card with Brazillians then make the last two fights as exciting as possible. I will be watching this card on the edge of my seat.

Bottom line. If the Belfort vs. johnson fight stays on it’s feet, then Belfort will not only win, but will probably knock him out.

I don’t know why some people still have Vitor up on a pedastal. He’s got lighting quick hands he fires over and over again, but if he doesn’t get you in trouble to use them, he’s seems to just be a regular fighter. I’m not knocking the guy, I’m just saying there’s no justification to act like he’s second only to A. Silva.
I think Johnson has an equal chance to win this fight. He’s got reach and is by no means slow. He’s got good kicks too.
I pick Johnson to win.

Another UFC 142 rumor I heard is that Stone Cold Steve Austin is going to be a guest referee for the main event. That’s dangerous because at any time he could deliver a stone cold stunner and just end someones career. Mendes or Aldo absorbing the stunner would be brutal. That move is devastating!

The stunner is easy to avoid as long as you block the kick to the gut as soon as he gives you the double bird, but so many people stare at the fingers, and fail to block the gut kick…

You realize the UFC pays people to scour the internet and MMA sites to find our where the streams are so that they can shut them down right? Don’t make it any easier for them.

Thank you for your post, maddawgmar. Sometimes I think it was a mistake for MMAWeekly to allow the children who come here to bash out their pathetic little insults to each other over a fight that none of them have any idea about what it going to happen. Its a fight, and it should be a good one unless Johnson tries to lay and pray his way to a decision like he did to Hardy. But the rest of you thinking you are clever – guess what, you’re not.
