Alistair Overeem met with the media at the UFC 141 post-fight press conference to discuss his victory over Brock Lesnar. Perhaps surprisingly, he also expressed that he didn’t think that Lesnar should retire, despite Overeem’s quick finish over the former UFC heavyweight champion.

    He’s quitting, not retiring.
And he can’t help it. It’s his nature to quit. He can’t go against his nature. It’s his survival instinct. Quit.

Just like it’s Liddel’s nature to fight. He couldn’t go against he nature to fight, even though he admitted he knew he couldn’t take a punch anymore. Reason told him to stop fighting, and he still pursuaded Dana to let him fight some more.

      Give Brock a break.

He can still beat Nelson, Schaub and other middle of the pack HWs in the UFC and outside the UFC.

Brock took a lot of punishment from beasts. Carwin, Cain, and Overeem are three of the strongest guys in the HW division. 90% of HWs would get KOed after eating one shot from those monsters.

Just go ask Frank Mir what he thinks about eating knuckle sandwiches from 250+ lb giants.

I like how the UFC already had Brock Lesnar’s name plate right next to the podium. They thought Lesnar was going to beat Alistair. Then the UFC didn’t bother changing the name plate prior to the post fight press conference. What a slap in the face to Alistair. Goes to show favoritism thrives in the UFC.
