Wanderlei Silva vs. Cung Le
Round 1: Le moving forward and Silva circling on the outside. Le moves in and lands a right hand. Silva goes on the attack as Le moves in. He lands one and Le retreats. Le lands a spinning back fist. Silva trying to counter punch. Le throws a head kick that’s blocked. Le lands a spinning back fist that knock Silva down. Le misses with a wheel kick. Silva circles away and lands an inside leg kick. Le lands a side kick to the body and another. Silva is missing with his counters and leaving himelf open. Le throws another spinning wheel kick that lands on the chest of Silva. Silva rushes in with a flurry but Le covers. Silva with a kick to the body. Le is cut. Silva coses the distance and starts to unload. The momentum changed at the end of the round but Le still did enough to take it on MMAWeekly’s scorecard.
Round 2: Silva misses with a big right hand and slips but immediately bounces back to his feet. Le lands a side kick to the body. Silva lands a high kick. Le lands a kick to the body and misses with an axe kick. A right hand by Silva gets through Le’s defense. The crowd starts to chant, “Cung Le.” The pace has slowed. Silva finding his range. Silva lands a right hand to the chin of Le. Silva with an inside leg kick. Le moves in and Silva fires back. Silva rushes in and lands an uppercut. Le uses his side kick to the body to keep Silva on the outside. Silva rushes in landing a knee and a right hand that drops Le. Le gets up and takes a beating by Silva knees. Le drops for a single leg and Silva lands hammer fists. The referee stops the fight. Joe Rogan is calling it an early stoppage, not sure if I agree.
