Round 1: Tibau lands the first big shot, though neither has done much early damage. Tibau gets his jab working a couple minutes into the round, and then takes Dos Anjos to the mat. Dos Anjos escapes and brings the fight back to the feet. Dos Anjos scores with a solid combination and then lands a double-leg takedown, but Tibau works his way up the cage back to standing. Round 2: Tibau shoots, but eats a hard right hand for his efforts. But he gets right back in the pocket, ready to fire. Tibau shoots again and misses, Dos Anjos landing a couple punches after defending the shot. Dos Anjos lands a left hand, setting up a shot, but can’t manage the takedown. Another good left hand from Dos Anjos before they clinch on the fence, Tibau pressing Dos Anjos to the cage. Tibau lands a shot that sends Dos Anjos back. Tibau follows and lands several hard shots, trying to put him away, but Dos Anjos is hanging tough on wobbly legs, somehow making it to the horn. MMAWeekly.com scores round two 10-9 for Tibau.
Round 3: Both fighters are swinging big, but neither is landing much damage. Dos Anjos is starting to utilize his jab more, but Tibau is countering most of the blows. Tibau times a perfect double-leg takedown, landing in Dos Anjos’ full guard. Tibau tries to get some ground and pound going, but Dos Anjos escapes to his feet. With a minute left, they’re clinched on the fence, Dos Anjos trying to find an opening for a takedown, but Tibau fending him off. Dos Anjos swings wildly, but misses.
