Round 1: Careful in the opening minute by both fighters. Edgar lands a left hook landing the first solid strike of the fight. Edgar dives in for a takedown. Maynard defends and they separate. Uppercut lands by Maynard that staggers Edgar. Edgar eats a big knee. Edgar tries to get it down but lands a right hand. Maynard with a glancing right hand. Maynard drops him with a right hand. Edgar in all sorts of trouble. Maynard with a left hook. Again Maynard lands an uppercut. Knee by Maynard. Edgar’s nose is bleeding badly. Left hook by Maynard. Edgar is getting beat up. Round 2: Slow start to round 2. Nothing much happening through the first minute. Both standing and picking their punches. Edgar lands a left hook. Edgar switching stances. Edgar working to establish the jab. Edgar with a right hand. Edgar shoots in but Maynard shakes it off. Edgar lands a hook to the body followed by an inside leg kick. Edgar with a combination. Round 3: Edgar moving well this round, in and out. Maynard looking for that uppercut. They clinch and Maynard lands a knee to the body before separating. Edgar goes for a single leg takedown but Maynard has none of it. They exchange powerful leg kicks. Edgar lands a leg kick and gets out. Maynard lands an uppercut. Solid right hand landed by Edgar. Round 4: It’s turned into boxing match. One minute in Edgar lands a straight right hand. Maynard ducks under a punch and tries to get the fight to the ground but Edgar defends. Edgar with a right hand that got Maynard’s attention. Maynard with a right hand. Edgar mixing in leg kicks. Maynard misses with a takedown. Edgar in and out and Maynard missing with counter strikes. Edgar goes for a takedown and misses but lands an uppercut that rattles Maynard. Maynard on rubber legs and Edgar goes in for the finish with a flurry dropping Maynard and finishes on the ground with punches.
