Michihiro Omigawa vs. Darren Elkins
Round 1: Omigawa and Elkins trade shots back and forth with the Japanese fighter using good head movement. Omigawa lands a nice left hook, but Elkins later lands an equally nice right hand. Omigawa stepping in with low hands and eats some punches in doing so. Elkins gets the takedown, but they return to the feet very quickly. The last minute of the round had Elkins moving around his opponent and picking his shots until the horn.
Round 2: Omigawa steps up and turns in on in the second round. Elkins has a cut over his right eye. Both fighters using boxing combos here and Elkins throws the first kick of the fight — a low kick. Halfway through the round and Elkins is still bleeding pretty bad out of the top of his right eye. Omigawa starting to land more effective punches and moving around to avoid his opponent’s strikes. Elkins shoots for a takedown, but Omigawa avoids it and keeps the fight standing through the end of the round.
Round 3: Elkins comes forward early in the final round, utilizing a 1-2-3 combo on his opponent, but Omigawa takes him down. Omigawa gets in Elkins’ guard and working to get past it and lands a killer strike to the face of his opponent. Elkins trying to get back to his feet and Omigawa almost got his opponent’s back. The fight returned to the feet and Elkins’ face is bloody as ever. Omigawa still using a lot of good head movement and footwork, avoiding strikes on the feet. Elkins is trying to land punch combinations, but only a few of them are landing. The fight ends at the horn and the fight goes the distance.
