It was a very special night for UFC middleweight Brian Stann at UFC 130.

Not only did Stann TKO former Sengoku middleweight champion Jorge Santiago, but he was able to fight during Memorial Day weekend, something that meant a lot to the former Marine who served on several tours overseas.

Stann has dedicated much of his post military career to the continued work support veterans, and he was honored to fight in front of so many of his fellow troops in Las Vegas Saturday night.

Chants of ‘USA, USA’ rang through the crowd during Stann’s fight, and he admits he heard the noise, and it fueled him even more.

“I did hear those chants, and obviously it’s a career moment for anybody that could be there in that type of environment. There was a lot of veterans in the crowd tonight, include parts of Seal Team 6, which I don’t think any of you guys knew about,” Stann revealed.

“It was an honor. They weren’t just chanting for me.”

Seal Team 6 were the special operatives that went on the mission that eventually killed Osama Bin Laden just a few weeks ago. They along with many other veterans sat in the crowd as Stann finished off his fight with Santiago, and claimed his place among the best middleweights in the world.

Well it happened again! An overrated guy with a stellar record against second tier opponents came to the UFC and got put to sleep. At least Santiago never claimed to be the best and fought the best available fighters and never made a bunch of opponent changes to fight a guy on super short notice. I’ve changed my mind about Overeem and Diaz if it was this much fun watching a guy who I hold no ill will against other than his ranking get whipped I cant wait to watch the same thing happen to those chumps!

Brain stann is not a second tier opponent dipshit hes a contender and possible champion hes a beast he took out chris leben in seconds and it took a top tier opponent to get him to the second round.

He was talking about how Santiago was overrated and fought against second tier opponents in order to build the 11 fight win streak that got him back into the UFC; only to be shut down by a legitimate top contender.

      Read slower next time, champ.
