UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Jake Shields are getting closer and closer to their historic showdown at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

It’s a huge fight, to be sure, just because of St-Pierre and Shields. St-Pierre is 21-2, riding an eight-fight winning streak, and is highly regarded as one of the top two pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Shields isn’t far behind. He’s 26-4-1 on a 15-fight winning streak that dates back to 2005.

UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields is historic for the added fact that it is the UFC’s first stadium event and has sold out a record 55,000 seats, the most every for a mixed martial arts event in North America.

as much as ive always liked gsp for being a respectful all around nice guy as a champion i cant help but want him to get his ass beat or see the upset.. doubt it will happen though.. i dont see sheilds taking him down. i see another stand up fight revolving around gsp’s jabs and takedowns. i betting on a boring 5 round fight.

yeah, I think so too no way he’ll take GSP down, his stand up sucks and he couldt even submit Kampmann, hmmm, this guy sounds liek he’s over rated he’s beaten Okami when he wasnt even good Dan henderson in 5 rounds because Hendo has no carido did u see the frist 2 rounds Hendo destroyed him, Gsp will crush him, my picks Gsp Homminick upsetting aldo and Machida Ko’ing/retiring Couture
