Brendan Schaub has stumbled only one time in his professional mixed martial arts career. And he doesn’t intend on that happening again anytime soon.

It has been five months since Schaub last set foot in the Octagon, but he’ll make his return Saturday night at UFC 128 in Newark, N.J. It’s too soon to tell if the fight will be his toughest to date, but it is definitely his most high profile.

Schaub faces the legendary Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic at the Prudential Center.

Schaub is a longtime fan of Cro Cop and his fighting style, but he’s not going the Pat Barry route. He wont’ be laughing and joking with the Croatian leading up to the fight. He intends to show his respect by giving Cro Cop the toughest fight of his life.

MMAWeekly.com sat down one-on-one with Brendan Schaub just before he left for New Jersey…

Damn, so Cro Cop is now fighting up and coming guys huh?

I doubt CC will win. But if he does, he needs to retire. The competition is getting bigger and younger now and I don’t know how many more fights CC can handle.

If he loses to Schaub, it will be tough but he needs to retire. Pretty soon he might have to fight undercard and might even lose there.
