Ross Pearson vs. Spencer Fisher
Round 1: Fisher is immediately pressing forward, looking to take Pearson’s head off with power punch. Pearson sits in the pocket, and does a good job catching Fisher with punches as he moves in. Fisher throws his hands up, taunting Pearson to punch, he obliges. Fisher shoots and takes Pearson down, but Fisher nearly gets caught in an armbar. He escapes and they return to their feet, two minutes left in the round. Fisher continues pressing Pearson, but it’s the Brit that is landing more often and with the cleaner punches. Pearson drops for a takedown, but eats a knee for his trouble. Back to punching range, they trade a few shots before the bell. MMAWeekly.com scores round one 10-9 for Fisher.
Round 2: Fisher comes out fast, landing a short right hook. Pearson tries to get his jab going, but Fisher keeps pressing forward. Pearson still countering well, both with his punches and leg kicks. But Fisher gets in with two straight left hands that snap Pearson’s head back. Pearson comes back with a strong right kick to the body, followed with a punch combination, stinging Fisher. Fisher again lands a couple left hands, then flurries his punches, causing Pearson to tie him up in a body lock, but Fisher escapes his grasp. Good body shot by Fisher, but Pearson counters with a hard right hand to the face, followed by a body kick and a flurry. Pearson ramping up his striking now, lands a knee and a combination of punches that visibly hurt Fisher. Pearson catches Fisher with several more hard shots just before the round ends. Round 3: Pearson scores the early leg-trip takedown, but Fisher gets right back to his feet. Fisher is still pressing forward, as he’s done all fight. Pearson shoots, but Fisher stuffs this attempt. Fisher snaps Pearson’s head with straight left, but Pearson comes back with a solid leg kick and punch combination, then a snapping uppercut. Pearson stepping it up, getting his combinations to land frequently now. Fisher still pressing, pressing, pressing, but eating a lot of shots for his trouble. Pearson puts him on his backside, landing in Fisher’s guard. Fisher pushes him off and they’re back to their feet, but Pearson puts Fisher right back down, working from half mount, grounding and pounding.
