Round 1:Ebersole opens with a carwheel kick, although it does nothing for him. Lytle clips him with a right hand, but Ebersole comes back with a good high kick. Lytle looks very calm, trying to find an opening for his punches. He presses Ebersole to the cage and lands a couple good body shots, then some uppercuts at range. Lytle picking his shots carefully, not rushing anything. Ebersole goes for a takedown, but Lytle locks on an arm-in guillotine. Ebersole rolls with it, but Lytle maintains the choke. Ebersole escapes the choke, but remains tied up with Lytle on the mat, Lytle in side control. Working back to their feet, Lytle locks on the guillotine again and pulls guard with it, but Ebersole escapes. They return to their feet, Ebersole pressing Lytle to the cage. Ebersole looks for the takedown, but Lytle locks on the guillotine and drops down. He transitions to triangle attempt, but Ebersole is quickly out. Ebersole takes top position in Lytle’s guard, dropping some shoulder punches to Lytle’s face before the bell. MMAWeekly.com scores round one 10-9 for Lytle.

Round 2: Lytle comes out for round two with a mouse under his left eye, and eats a body kick. He fires back with a couple punch combinations, landing hard to the body. Ebersole lands a spinning back kick, but not flush. Lytle lands another punch to the body, then a couple to the head. Two more really hard shots to Ebersole, who tries to shrug them off as if they hit him on the arm. He shoots, but Lytle sprawls out and starts pressing him, landing punches. Ebersole lands a kick, but Lytle answers with four or five hard punches. Ebersole scores a brief takedown, Lytle is right back up, but eats a knee to the chin that drops him. Ebersole moves in and locks on a choke, but Lytle remains patient, gets out of the choke and tries to get his whits back about him. Ebersole keeps pressing, punching, but they’re up to their feet in a clinch on the cage. Ebersole lands a hard right Thai elbow. Lytle briefly applies a guillotine, but Ebersole is out after slamming Lytle to the mat. He’s working from Lytle’s guard, grounding and pounding him to the bell. Round 3:Ebersole tries the cartwheel kick again, but it goes nowhere. Lytle answers with several hard body shots. Ebersole presses him to the cage, Lytle trying to secure a Kimura, but Ebersole slips out. They scramble back up to their feet. Ebersole, looking for the takedown, gets caught in another guillotine, and Lytle turns it over to top position with the guillotine still on. Ebersole turns to top postion, Lytle still going for the guillotine, but Ebersole escapes and then tries for his own choke, but can’t secure it. They scramble back to their feet, up against the cage. Lytle lands knee to the body, Ebersole an elbow to the head. Ebersole keeps pressing, but a lull causes the referee to separate them. They start up again, Lytle landing a knee and body shots, but Ebersole fires back a knee of his own. They go to the mat, Lytle trying a kneebar, but Ebersole slipping out. Ebersole is in Lytle’s full guard, lands a couple hard shots, including an elbow that opens up a cut. Lytle’s face is a bloody mess at the final bell.
