Saturday night’s telecast of UFC 126 Prelims Live on Spike TV was the most-watched episode since the show’s inception with UFC 103.

UFC 126 Prelims Live, featuring bouts pitting Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone against Paul Kelly and Chad Mendes against Michihiro Omigawa, drew an average of 2.0 million viewers, well above the previous high of 1.7 million viewers for UFC 109. It’s also well above the series average of 1.4 million viewers per episode.
The numbers were also strong enough to put Spike TV in the top spot in the key advertiser demographics of Men 18-49 and M 18-34, according to Spike TV officials.
The UFC 126 Prelims Live was the first of 12 prelim telecasts that Spike TV is expected to carry on its network in 2011.
