Round 1: Soto comes out aggressive and eats a right jab from Roberts for his troubles. Soto is pressuring and Roberts is backing him off with jabs. Soto lands a huge straight right on Roberts chin that wobbles the Cesar Gracie product. Roberts shoots out of desperation and is stuffed. Leaving his neck exposed, Roberts falls into a Soto guillotine. Soto sits on it and rolls for more pressure and they are on the canvas now. Roberts stands up but eats a few knees getting to his feet. The crowd cheers. Soto with more pressuring, looping hooks, but none land with any significance. Roberts shoots and earns a single leg takedown and is now in Soto’s half guard, working shots to the body with his knees. Roberts with some nice elbows to Soto’s skull. Soto is staying active from the bottom, however, and is trying to scramble to get to his feet. Soto in a scramble and gives up position, and Roberts snatches a very slick Kimura attempt. He keeps cranking on it, and steps over for the finish! Great submission win for “Ninja” Roberts.
