Dan Miller vs. Joe Doerksen
Round 1: Doerksen plants on his punches early and lands a couple of right hands. Miller quickly gets the fight to the ground with a double leg takedown. Doerksen worked for a reversal and scrambled back to his feet, but Miller applies a guillotine choke and gets the action back to the canvas. Doerksen easily escapes and Miller spent the rest of the round in top position landing punches and elbows inside the Canadian’s guard. MMAWeekly.com scores the round 10-9 for Dan Miller.
Round 2: Doerksen comes out in the second stanza looking to strike. Miller, again, secures an early takedown. Doerksen reverses him begins his ground and poud attack. Miller sweeps him and picks up where he left off in the first round. Doerksen applies kimura looking to submit or sweep Miller. Miller eventually fends it off and goes back to landing punches. Doerksen active from the bottow with elbows, but Miller lands punches and elbows taking the round on MMAWeekly.com’s scorecard 10-9.
Round 3: Doerksen comes out aggressive, landing a right hand and firing off a head kick. Miller takes him down and lands punches. Doerksen works to get out from the bottom, but Miller has none of it and continues to control the fight. Doerksen throws punches and elbows from the bottom, mostly for show. Miller holds him down and finishes the round with a series of hammer fists. It’s left up to the judges to decide, but MMAWeekly.com scores the contest 30-27 for Dan Miller.
