As the first ever battle between two UFC hall of famers looms just over 24 hours away, the fighters competing on UFC 109 weighed in on Friday afternoon, with everyone making weight.

Matt Serra got quite a welcome from the Las Vegas crowd as the former welterweight champion stepped on the scales, while Nate Marquardt also seemed to receive a warm ovation from the fans in attendance.

The main event fighters, Randy Couture and Mark Coleman, both made weight with no problem and now it’s on the business of watching two of the greatest of all time fight.

“I feel great, I’m excited, I’ve got a lot of energy. I’m ready to go, I’m going to win this fight,” Coleman said after weighing in. “Just looking to fight the best, and Randy’s one of the best of all time, nothing but respect for him. But I want a little piece of what he’s got.”

On the other side, Randy Couture has once again re-invented himself working with coach Neil Melanson, and he hopes to show off some of those new found skills on Saturday night.

“I feel blessed each and every time I get to step back out there in the Octagon,” Couture commented. “This is another chance for me to go out, show the things I’ve changed, show the ways I’ve gotten better, become a better athlete all the time. Mark Coleman’s a great challenge for me, I look forward to it.”
